Ostoich Retaining Wall

This project involved the structural design of a reinforced concrete retaining wall system along a steep mountainside. The solution featured multiple terraced tiers and step transitions to follow the natural topography while maintaining stability and minimizing earth pressures. Portions of the wall were designed on a radial curve to accommodate the site geometry and improve aesthetics. Due to the challenging terrain and variable soil conditions, the retaining structure was anchored directly into competent bedrock using spin-lock anchors to ensure long-term performance and resistance to sliding and overturning. The final design provided a durable, constructible system that blended with the landscape while safely supporting the adjacent mountain slope.
