By Troy Triphahn, President

What a year 2023 was for WT Group! We’ve seen our portfolio of services expand. We’ve celebrated the important achievements and milestones of team members. We strengthened our engagement with the community. And we formed a partnership that will broaden our horizons and opportunities even more. It was truly a year of transformation, change and growth – with the promise of more to come in the year ahead.

As always, the key factor driving the success of WT Group is our commitment to teamwork in everything we do. During our annual “Employee Rollout” early in March, we made TEAMWORK the overriding theme of our organization for 2023. As a company with so many diverse Practice Areas, the ability of our people to collaborate, helping each other to attain their full potential, is something WT Group professionals strive for every day and on each client project. Teamwork helps to build trust among coworkers and drives individual commitment to a group effort. It’s how WT Group delivers peak performance for clients and for the communities we serve.

Let’s take a moment for a quick review of some of the other developments that made 2023 such a pivotal year for WT Group:

Partnership with draftPros – In March 2023, WT Group joined forces with draftPros, a leading name in telecommunications infrastructure. The relationship brings together the combined strength and capabilities of two leading firms in the infrastructure engineering industry.

Celebrating Women in EngineeringIn June, we highlighted Women in Engineering Month, celebrating the achievements, talent, and determination of female professionals in the engineering field, and the unique perspectives they bring to their teams.

High School Shadow Program – Also in June, the second annual High School Shadow Program took place at WT Group’s Hoffman Estates Headquarters. The program provides hands-on shadowing experience in engineering, architecture, consulting, and construction to two local high school students, encouraging and mentoring them for potential careers in engineering.

2nd Annual “Grip It, Rip It, Trace It” event – In September, we held our second annual “Grip It, Rip It, Trace It” event at the Top Tracer facility located at the Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The sold-out event supports the WT Foundation’s scholarship program.

Stephen Dominguez earns Rising Star award – Demonstrating the professional excellence of team members at WT Group, Stephen Dominguez, PE, SE, (Principal-in-Charge, Structural Engineering) was named a “Rising Star in Multidisciplinary Engineering” by the respected Civil + Structural Engineer.

As we reflect on the past year, we also celebrate the milestones in the individual Practice Areas that mark WT Group's unwavering commitment to excellence and ingenuity.
